Food Safety & Sanitation Workshop
CKCA offers an eight hour workshop on food safety and sanitation as training for two separate food safety certification exams: ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification and the New York City Department of Health Food Handler Certification.
As a student in the professional training program in culinary or pastry arts, you are entitled to take the Food Safety & Sanitation Workshop free of cost.
The food safety workshop is a requirement to graduate if you are requesting an externship or job placement services.
The Servsafe exam will be administered at CKCA upon completion of the 8 hour course. The NYC DOH exam must be taken in Manhattan at the Health Academy. You must register and complete their online course in advance of taking the test. Students without internet access may use a CKCA computer terminal to complete the online modules.
Each student is provided with one chef’s coat, one pair chef’s pants, one white bib apron, and one chef’s cap. Once the semester beings, additional pieces may be ordered directly from our supplier. Click here to visit their online store
